"I am a game programmer graduate with a Master's in Interactive Entertainment from the Florida Interactive Entertainment Academy (FIEA) at the University of Central Florida. I studied at the University of Florida for my undergraduate degree, where I graduated cum laude with a BS in Computer Science with a minor in Digital Arts and Sciences. At UF, I was a member of the Honors Program and was awarded a Benaquisto merit-based full scholarship.
Throughout my undergraduate career, I took numerous courses in math and physics. These courses included Calculus, Linear Algebra, Differential Equations, and Honors Physics 1 and 2. Additionally, I was chosen to be a Learning Assistant for a Calculus 1 course, where I would guide students that were having trouble with the material.
I have worked with programming languages and concepts during both undergraduate and graduate studies. I worked on projects in several different languages, including C, C++, C#, Java, and even some 68k assembly. In these projects, I demonstrated not only game programming concepts, but also general programming knowledge such as data structures and algorithms.
As a game programmer, I have extensive experience in Unity and Unreal Engine 4. For my Capstone project at FIEA, I worked on a small team of developers to create a game (Zenko: A Fox's Tale) for release on Steam.
Usually, when I tutor, I try to explain the material in a way that allows the student to understand why each step is important. I walk them through the problem while letting them figure out each step themselves. In this way, the student can make the connection and arrive at the solution themselves, rather than watching me do the problem for them. I feel this will make them more confident and successful when they are tested on the material.
My GRE Math score was 169 out of 170 possible points. My score in AP Calculus AB was 5 (the highest score) and my score on the IB SL Mathematics was a 7 (again the highest score).
I hope I can help with whatever is giving you trouble!" less...
