"I received a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and History, with a double minor in Jewish Studies and the Social Sciences research track, from the Macaulay Honors College and Queens College at CUNY. With a 3.98 GPA, I have proven experience in social studies and skills in research, writing, debate, and public speaking.
With the intention of pursuing a Ph.D. in Political Science and becoming a professor, I am currently a Master’s student and Teaching Assistant at Columbia University. I am currently a TA for the course Democracy, Sovereignty, and the European Union.
In my current job as an Alumni Ambassador at the Cultural Corps program of CUNY, I have provided extensive personalized mentorship on résumé building, career development, and conflict resolution to around 20 students per semester.
During my undergraduate education, I was the coach of the Queens College Model United Nations team. Each semester, I wrote syllabi, weekly lesson plans, and scripts for collaborative workshops with the idea of expanding education beyond the traditional classroom setting. Working with an average of 12 students per semester, I provided substantive and constructive feedback on their speeches, papers, and diplomatic dialogue.
I additionally have substantial international experience in research. As a Human Rights Legal Fellow at Justice Centre Hong Kong, I conducted in-house research on international refugee law and compiled reports on political conflicts, public health crises, and socioeconomic conditions in various African countries.
Before that, as a Research Associate Intern at the West Africa Centre for Counter-Extremism, I wrote research papers on community- and economic-based strategies to counter violent extremism and United States and French counterterrorism operations in West Africa.
My goal as an educator is not simply to dispense facts to students, but to support their growth as scholars and leaders, development of critical skills, and understanding of ideas in history and politics." less...
