"Hi! I graduated from the University of Pennsylvania summa cum laude with Masters in Nursing and a minor at the Wharton School of Business. I've returned to graduate school at GA State University for a Masters in Public Policy, having recently completed Statistics, Economics and other courses with a 3.83 GPA. Because of my nursing background, I have a depth of knowledge in sciences, with a speciaI interest in math and language arts. Additionally, I studied French for 6 years. Recently, I spent some time training specifically in tutoring for SAT and ACT exams. Additionally, I am qualified to tutor nursing students for their university classes and/or NCLEX Exam.
I have experience teaching at the University level, and years of tutoring students from kindergarten through graduate school. My approach is collaborative. I work with the student (and parent) to assess the student's current proficiency level, as well as to ascertain their assessment of key areas for improvement. We will use various methods of learning, depending on the subject, age of student and area of difficulty. Often, learning issues are affected by personality, situations, and anxiety. My experience in management and professional development, working with all personalities, enhances academic success. Seeing the confidence of the student grow allows me to gain as much from our work together as they do. I bring to the student maturity, patience, humor, knowledge, and a love of teaching. I enjoy working with students of all ages to increase their confidence and expand their horizons. I have a special interest in advocating a student's view of their potential in life.
I would love to have a chance to work with you or your child. If appropriate, I will include parents and teachers in the process, as we are partners in learning. I will provide regular updates on progress by email, and am happy to take calls if there are problems that arise in between sessions. I look forward to getting getting to know you!" less...
