"Background
I’ve always had a passion for teaching and working with young people, and I want to share my love for math and science with others. I believe that students can learn difficult concepts best in a one on one environment. The student’s aptitude will improve from exposure to my years of experience in both academics and industry.

"Background
I’ve always had a passion for teaching and working with young people, and I want to share my love for math and science with others. I believe that students can learn difficult concepts best in a one on one environment. The student’s aptitude will improve from exposure to my years of experience in both academics and industry.
Qualifications
I have about five years of cumulative experience tutoring including three years tutoring calculus and physics while I was a student at UC Irvine and one semester experience as a graduate student instructor in materials science where I won the award for outstanding graduate student instructor. In addition, I tutored one year of algebra while in high school.
Education
I have a master’s degree in materials science from UC Berkeley and a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from UC Irvine where I graduated magna cum laude. I am also a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
Teaching methods
I like to start with a student assessment to understand what the student is struggling with so that I may tailor my lesson plans accordingly. I also like to give students real world examples of the applications of the topics that we are reviewing. I find that students often struggle because they don’t understand the applicability of the concepts they are learning. Using this method, I find that students find the joy in learning these difficult subjects.
Conclusion
I invite you to contact me to set up a session. I know that the work we will do together will improve the student’s confidence and love for learning. I look forward to hearing from you." less...
