"I have been teaching basic math through Intermediate Algebra for 30+ years. I have become acquainted with the new school curriculum and am comfortable teaching Secondary 1, 2, and 3. I have taught Math in Junior High, High School, College and Sylvan Learning Center. I love to help students understand why a problem requires certain steps, yet allow the student to be creative in their approach to math. Math must make sense in order for a student to remember it as a later time. Students must learn the basics in order to understand the Algebra.

At the same time, I have been involved with tutoring math students. I have tutored students in their homes, in my home, at their school, and at Sylvan Learning Center. I clarify concepts through question and answer and observe student work to identify what they know and what they need to learn. I teach using manipulatives, drawings, and charts. I will use my tutoring time to check homework, correct quizzes and tests, and work on "what if" problems, or anything else that is needed. I have puzzles and worksheets that help students work on their multiplication facts, fractions, and decimals. I will make the session fun and fulfilling.
