I graduated from Carnegie Mellon University with BS degrees in both mathematics and computer science, and from University of Southern California with a MS degree in computer science. Throughout my academic years, I have always enjoyed thinking about how to make assessment and teaching more effective, and I look forward to making an impact given more tutoring opportunities!

I have extensive experience in teaching and tutoring in college, serving as teaching assistant to early-year undergrad discrete math and algorithms courses for more than 2 years. I was able to assist students from diverse academic backgrounds in my office hours by explaining abstract concepts in a more digestible manner using concrete examples, and received positive feedback for meeting their individual learning demands. I also had experience in designing and teaching weekly discussion classes to a larger audience. I was able to make the classes enjoyable and interactive by carefully planning the concept review and appropriate exercises to strengthen their understanding, engaging the students by actively seeking their responses to my question and explaining how their proposals can be improved.
