"Hello students!
My name is David S. I have been teaching at a high school for 24 years and have tutored for 25 years. I hold a degree in Physics from UCI and a Masters in Math Education from WGU. I also hold a California Single Subject Teaching Credential in Mathematics and a Supplemental Authorization in Physics.
I have taught Algebra I, Algebra II (including Honors), Geometry (including Honors), Precalculus (including Honors), AP Calculus AB, AP Calculus BC, AP Physics C: Electricity and Magnetism, and AP Computer Science A. I also teach Intermediate Calculus (Calc III) topics. I have also taught SAT and ACT preparation courses in math since 2002, including every subject test for math.
I love everything about teaching! I very much enjoy helping students to understand advanced concepts. All problem-solving mechanics rely on concept and I enjoy helping students to grasp those concepts. I want students to be able to distinguish between the "whys" and the "hows." In this way, the student can start from a handful of ideas and use those to solve many problems. Although time does not always permit, I feel it is helpful to see different ways of doing the same problem.
I would love to help you!" less...
