"Hi, my name is Ruby. I am an undergraduate student at Northeastern University with a double major in Mathematics and Physics and a minor in Economics. I was first in my high school graduating class of 436 students in the spring of 2022 with a Core 40 diploma with academic and technical honors. I also earned the Indiana College Core and finished high school with an Associate’s Degree in General Studies from Ivy Tech Community College in Indiana.
I received a 5 on the AP exams for Calculus AB, Calculus BC, and Statistics, and a 4 on the AP Physics I and AP Physics II exams. In addition, I earned a 770/800 on the SAT Math sections and a 35/36 on the ACT Math section. During my fafter-schoolr of college, I earned an A in Calculus III (multivariate calculus) and an A in Physics I for engineering.
In terms of experience, I have been tutoring for three years in all levels of math and in high school physics courses, AP Physics I, and college-level Physics I. I have worked with students both individually and in groups. I find that one on one settings are productive in really zeroing in on the student’s needs. I have worked individually with peers and underclassmen in high school. From my experience working with several students at once, I find that groups cultivate a fun dynamic learning environment. I have volunteered at an after-school community program for elementary-aged girls, helping a group of girls of varying ages with their homework. I also volunteered with a STEM summer camp for elementary students, leading a group of fourth graders and helping them with their various projects. As someone who is passionate about math and science and has taken these courses recently, I believe I will be able to recall and teach the concepts in a clear and exciting manner. My main goal is to help students understand difficult concepts so they may achieve their academic goals and foster a love for learning, and I am excited to apply my experience and knowledge to a broader network of students." less...
