"Hello. My name is Obinna. I graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with a bachelor’s in science in Biology. I played on the basketball team for one semester at a junior college prior to transferring to a 4-year university. While in undergrad, I soon realized that memorizing test topics is not an ideal way to excel and that waiting for the last minute to get help further compounds one's problems. As the famous saying goes, "an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure." I believe it is best for students to seek help early in the semester or even during a break.
My goal is to build up students in a holistic manner by solidifying their foundational knowledge in a subject while building their confidence. I have been actively tutoring for 15 years. My first formal tutoring experience occurred during my freshman year in college. I was able to help the student go from an F to a B in her Pre-Calculus course. After that, I was hired to coach a select group of youth in an academic competition called Math Blazers for the Boys and Girls Club in Grand Prairie, Texas. We were able to win for the first time in the existence of that branch. From that experience, parents began contacting me to tutor their children. Currently, I tutor STEM subjects which include chemistry up to biochemistry, math up to Calculus, Physics, and most Biology. I have an engaging and interactive style of instruction. I DO NOT give answers but rather guide you step by step while providing feedback. As previously stated, I believe it is best to seek help early in a term/semester or before, but I have been able to guide students to success late in a term when it seemed like all hope was lost. When working with me, we will be proactive and aim to stay ahead of each student's classroom schedule. We will also be relentlessly positive. Excellence requires hard work and dedication, but it is very attainable. Contact me for more information. I look forward to working with you!" less...
