"Hi, I'm Benjamin and I'm pursuing a double major in mechanical engineering and physics at the University of Alabama. I've been tutoring since May 2021, first with a tutoring company and now privately since September 2022. My focus is middle and high school math and physics, calculus, differential equations, and standardized test prep.
My tutoring approach centers on helping students to properly grasp the fundamental concepts of their subject and how to practically apply these concepts to actual problems. I believe understanding the fundamentals gives students the confidence to approach a variety of problem types. I recognize that each student learns differently, so I strive to cater my teaching style to what works best for them.
I graduated from high school in May of 2023 with a 4.43 GPA (4.00 unweighted). I received a 5 on the AP Calculus BC, Physics 1, Physics C: Mechanics, US History, Biology, Language and Composition, and Spanish Language and Culture exams, a 36 on the ACT, a 1470 on the PSAT, and I was a National Merit Finalist and AP Scholar with Distinction. I was also named the Shelby County College-Ready Student of the Year. I currently study at the University of Alabama and plan to stay for my MBA and Master's in Mechanical Engineering. I also studied one semester at the Universitat Politecnica de Valencia in Spain and have worked for Honda as a Mechanical Engineering Co-op student." less...
