"I am a student at the University of Rhode Island pursuing a double major in Medical Laboratory Science, and Chemistry. Since high school, I have known that I wanted to focus my career on science and innovation. To prepare for this path, I took multiple AP classes, including chemistry, biology, Spanish, and American history. After scoring 5s on all the exams, I further specialized by enrolling in my school's Career and Technology program, which provided a more centralized study experience similar to college coursework. By my senior year, both my peers and younger students frequently sought my assistance with their coursework. Many reported significant improvements in their GPAs after I began tutoring them.
This passion for teaching continued into college, where I became a tutor at the University of Rhode Island’s Academic Enhancement Center, specializing in both general and organic chemistry. I have earned A’s in every chemistry course I have taken at the university and have continued to assist classmates struggling with the material. To extend my passion for teaching beyond the classroom, I have begun developing an organic chemistry information website, which will feature a comprehensive collection of concepts, detailed reaction mechanisms, and practice problems.
Beyond my primary areas of study, I am a naturally strong test-taker and have a talent for explaining complex concepts in ways that others can understand. In my Calculus I and II courses, I earned a 98% in both, despite not considering math my strongest subject. This demonstrates my ability to dedicate myself to learning and mastering material, even outside my core passions." less...
