My name is Asheque and I am commonly referred to as Asheque 'The Tutor'. Growing up in a family of professional educators, I have learned to value and appreciate the help one can get either from a professor, teacher, instructor or a tutor. I truly understand the importance of a student getting the extra help he or she may need to improve on his or her weaknesses. I have been an active tutor since 2001. Since then I have tutored hundreds of students each with different challenging educational needs. Tutoring so many students over the years allowed me to acquire the necessary skills to work with students with unique personalities. An extensive custom booklet/binder is created for each student based on his or her needs. This custom booklet/binder is compiled from the virtual electronic library consisting of thousands of sample examinations and worksheets that I have collected over the years. Students are also provided with all printouts/worksheets on a daily basis. A study schedule for each week is also determined for the student starting from day one.

Tutoring is more than a job to me. It is something I really enjoy. I treat each and every one of my student as a brother or a sister by understanding them and connecting with them to build a respectful relationship leading the student to:

- understand his or her weaknesses,

- change his or her attitude towards learning if needed and

- make the commitment to improve on it.

I am often in touch with many of my former students. It is always great to hear back from students whom I have helped and to reflect back on how they have changed their study habits that suits them now to make learning easier and more enjoyable for them. My passion for tutoring is the reason to why I still continue to help students even while pursuing a full-time career as a Civil Engineer working for the City of New York.

I am always confident to say that the next new student that I meet and tutor, I will have a positive impact on his or her education. I believe that my unique technique of tutoring style will only make the student interested in working on his or her weaknesses. I am not the typical tutor who will just simply show the student how to get the answer, but rather question the student's question that will truly trigger a thinking process, which will ultimately lead to the answer that is correct.
