During my time at Stony Brook, I became a Teaching Assistant for Data Structures, and Fundamentals of Software Development, allowing me to gain experience teaching advanced Computer Science topics in both classroom settings and one-on-one during my Office Hours.
In addition to my university experience, I've had the pleasure of mentoring students on FIRST Robotics Team #263 for over 3 years. Teaching Object-Oriented programming and Java to a diverse group of over 15 high-school students in both 1-on-1 and classroom settings, I honed my ability to break down complex ideas into understandable concepts. Guiding high school students in the debugging process, I helped them develop strong problem-solving skills.
Furthermore, my 3 years as an instructor at a math learning center allowed me to tailor my teaching approach to meet each student's specific needs. Whether tutoring in a group setting or one-on-one, I focused on creating a supportive and engaging environment, while highlighting individual student's weaknesses to prepare them for exams such as the SAT, ACT, or NYS Regents Exams.
