"Hi there! I'm a reliable, compassionate, and adaptable young woman with over 5 years of experience working with students. I am a Physics major with a specialization in Astrophysics. I have attained 4s and 5s on several AP exams including Calculus, English Literature, English Language, Biology, and French. I primarily teach math (ranging from elementary level, as young as teaching kids how to count, to calculus) & English (both reading comprehension and essay writing).

I have been working at a tutoring center for five years. I tutor elementary schoolers in groups of 2-3 and high schoolers 1-on-1. Several of my students were unable to read when I started with them. I help develop a foundational comprehension of sight-reading and phonics, ultimately working our way up to reading picture books & paragraphs. I'm extremely patient and understanding and will never make any child feel as if they are too slow to understand a topic; I will adapt to your student's needs.

For the past 2 years, I have private tutored students via Zoom, where I work 1-on-1 with high school students 4-5 times a week. A few students were not motivated to submit assignments on time. By providing them with attainable goals and effective incentives, we worked together to catch up on all missing assignments and maintain a firm schedule for the rest of the semester. For my students who are nonnative English speakers, I help them excel in their English classes by creating a timeline for essay writing that involves outlines, several drafts, peer revision, and a final editing round. We focus on vocabulary weekly (if possible; biweekly if not) in order to expand their writing arsenal and strengthen the foundation for writing proficiency.
