I have a Bachelor's in Computer Science, but minored in Mathematics, and am currently finishing up my Alternative Certification for teaching. I currently hold an Intern Teaching Certificate while I finish my program. I plan on starting my Master's with a focus on Math Education within the next year.

I currently teach Geometry and Precalculus at the High School level, where I strive to push my students to be prepared for education after High School based on University and Workforce expectations. I challenge my students by showing them a challenging problem each day to help push them to the next level.

When teaching, my methods are to show and explain the step-by-step process of solving the problem after explaining important vocabulary and ideas. I then worked on some guided examples before having the students attempt examples on their own, where we then compared answers. At this point, I will find the misunderstanding, so I can focus on how to best support the students and re-explain concepts. My goal is to simplify the lessons as much as possible to ensure a basic level of understanding before we move on to the next level of blending the lesson with prior knowledge and critical thinking." less...
