"I'm enthusiastic about tutoring -- I've been teaching and tutoring, as time permitted, starting when I was a graduate student.

My BA is in Maths and Computer Science, my PhD is in Physics, I did postdoctoral work in Biophysics, I was on the Physiology faculty at a university in Canada, and now I work in the Biotech field here in the Bay Area.

My approach when tutoring is to find a way to bring the student to that "aha" moment when things become clear. Not just to become clear for its own sake, but clear enough that the student can solve problems. Sometimes we must dig around the topic until its secret becomes clear, and that is the core of the tutoring process for me.

Every student is different, and I tailor my approach to the individual. Though I am hardworking and diligent in my efforts to help the understanding process, I am also patient and good-humored, as learning is less frustrating if one is in a good mood.
