"When it comes to teaching, manifesting a positive demeanor is of pivotal importance, but even more important is demonstrating excellent teamwork skills. Developing a sense of companionship with the students is essential in not only the student’s success, but even the teachers as well. Throughout my high school tenure, I have taken part in a variety of wonderful teaching opportunities that enabled me to learn the value of working together, whether it be with students or with teachers.

I truly enjoying teaching because I sense a great deal of value in helping others. It is even more welcoming to work with younger students because I have been through that stage once in my life. As a student who took part in a specialized early college initiative program offered at my high school, I want to connect with younger students and bring them to great levels of success as well. I truly value these life changing connections as it allows me to view life through another perspective. I am also completely flexible with timing as my current college semester schedule offers me plentiful of free time. All in all, this program is the perfect opportunity for me to accomplish my goals as I could continue to work with students and teachers." less...

Education and Qualifications

school: Hunter

I have worked with an entire third and fifth grade class, as a teacher’s assistant. I am proud to have been able to aid these curious students in a wide variety of subjects, from math to reading to the sciences and even to history. I have spent one year with these amazing students, growing a very positive and strong bond with them throughout.

I have also aided eighth graders in their high school application process as I reminisced back to the stress I have been through when I was once in that state. My intention was to make this ride go more smoothly for these dedicated eighth graders. I also taught eighth graders specific high school entrance exam materials and gave them an insight into the high school life to help them prepare beforehand.

Last but not least, I have had the wonderful opportunity of being countless teacher’s assistant at both my middle school and my high school. As one of the top performing student in a variety of classes, I was chosen amongst my peers to help my teachers create lesson plans, organize and grade assignments. I have even been successful in creating a club at my high school, the SAT club, in which I dedicated afterschool time to help fellow peers augment their SAT scores.
