When I am helping you or your student in a subject you find difficult, my method is to identify your roadblocks and misunderstood concepts and then to explain them in a simple, orderly way that connects to the rest of the course or subject. Many school subjects rely on fundamental concepts that make up the foundation of the future work done in those courses. If these basic ideas are never explained correctly in the first place, it is extremely difficult to be successful long-term in the class.
