"I have a bachelor's degree in Biology and an MBA from UCLA. I have 18 years of experience as a controller/CFO of various tech companies. I also worked as a financial advisor helping clients by developing optimized portfolios for them. I began tutoring Calculus as a freshman in high school and have continued to do so since that time. During college, I began tutoring various science and accounting courses. After I graduated, I started tutoring SAT/ACT/SAT II/AP and a variety of other math/science/business courses.
Throughout my decades of experience, I have learned how to help my students better approach the material. My goal is to guide students toward awareness of how the material is applicable to real-world situations. By focusing on the “why” behind the material, students are able to get a deeper understanding of the material.
I have also found that students sometimes have difficulties connecting early course material with later course material, which makes the quantity of material seem more daunting to master. I continually show them how everything is connected, which makes comprehension and preparation for tests/finals more effective and easy.
I have tutored high school students (AP, Honors, CP) in math through Calc BC AP, as well as biology, chemistry, and physics. I have tutored college students (BS/MFS/MBA) in college algebra, calculus, multivariate calculus, differential equations, probability theory, linear algebra, abstract algebra, combinatorics, statistics (including Rcode-based courses), Excel and VBA, business stats, financial accounting, accounting systems, managerial accounting, corporate finance, financial analysis, quantitative methods in finance, micro/macro econ, biology, anatomy/physiology, chemistry, organic chemistry, and physics. I have tutored students preparing for standardized tests, such as MCAT, DAT, GRE, GMAT, ACT, SAT, and various science/math based AP exams." less...
