"Hello! My name is Vivian, and I am a recent graduate from The Ohio State University, summa cum laude, with my Bachelor of Fine Arts in dance and my Bachelor of Science in Education in exercise science. My dual degree has given me an extensive math and science background, and I have also developed a passion for teaching throughout my years of study. I got my start teaching in a dance studio, so I enjoy finding creative ways to teach material, paying attention to methods that suit different learning styles. I incorporate visual and auditory lessons as appropriate for my students, but I also love to introduce kinesthetic learning, especially to create memory tools.

In my experience tutoring, I have worked with middle and high school students specifically in math, and I also work as a substitute teacher where I teach and manage classrooms from kindergarten through high school. This job requires me to think quickly on my feet and answer students’ questions to the best of my ability, and it has given me many opportunities to teach lessons and work one-on-one with students.

Finally, I would like to mention high school courses and standardized test history to support the subjects I can tutor. My high school AP courses (I scored a 4 or 5 on all of them) included: Calculus AB, Calculus BC, Physics 1, Physics C (mechanics and electricity/magnetism), Music Theory, U.S. History, U.S. Government, Macroeconomics, Literature and Composition, Language and Composition, European History, and Human Geography. On the ACT, I scored a 35 composite, with my strengths being in math, science, and English.

Outside of school subjects, I am also an ACE-certified personal trainer, a mat and Reformer Pilates instructor, and an avid knitter/crocheter. I view tutoring as a way to help you best find your gateway into the subject you are studying, and my goal is for you to feel a sense of independence in that subject area.
