"Vast experience with working with youth, as I began tutoring students K-12 14 years ago. After I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics and Education, I began my teaching career. I have worked in the middle school setting, as well as teaching high school mathematics. In addition to the public school experience, I have taught and tutored in the mathematics department of a state university.
My Master of Education degree in Learning and Technology enables me to assess students to determine which learning style will work best for them, individually. I really seem to have a way presenting material in a manner which enables different types of learners to succeed. Many students that I meet with require alternative ways to practice their topics in order to actually learn the material. We sometimes play games or learn through movement.
I have a lot of patience with students and understand the importance of not adding stress to any workload, but rather encouraging them when they have success, as small as that success may be.
My student success record is extremely high, with the average grade point increase of 2 letters. I believe that encouragement and confidence boosts are two of the biggest factors of success for students, and building a trusting relationship goes with that.
I look forward to working with you." less...
