"I've been a math teacher and an adjunct professor. I taught at Duke University and began tutoring over 20 years ago. Through my experience teaching students of all ages, including teens and adults, I've seen the importance of adapting my teaching to the learning style of each person. I also have several years of experience applying math to real world situations. I use what's around us every day to make math easier and have it come alive! I help gifted math students, students struggling to pass math, and those in between. I’ve tutored students taking online courses and those who are homeschooled.
My students find they gain much more than a better understanding of math. Their grades and their study skills improve. They complete their homework on time. Their self-confidence increases. They feel more at ease as their stress levels and test anxiety lessen. Yes, and sometimes they actually smile and laugh while learning math! Students discover they really can ask questions and get the answers they need. They can request help and receive it.
I tutor these subjects:
Common Core Math 1, 2, 3
Pre-Algebra
Algebra 1, 2
Geometry
Trigonometry
Advanced Functions and Modeling (AFM)
Pre-Calculus
AP Calculus AB, BC
I also tutor math for these exams:
PSAT
ACT
SAT
SAT Math I, II
Praxis

When I graduate college and medical school, you will be in my speech because you played a huge influence in my accomplishment. Never stop teaching because you help give people like me hope!”" less...
