"Like most students, I have gone through the challenges of mathematics from basic education that got harder and harder (or harsher and harsher, if you may) as I got to graduate school. Even with my current work that uses some math, sometimes I still struggle with difficult math problems that confront me. But with diligence, I eventually surpass them. I consider myself as an average student and an eternal learner of mathematics. Hence, I am confident that I can relate with your difficulties (or your child's difficulties) in your (or his/her) journey with math.

When I was teaching secondary and basic college mathematics, I encountered a different level of challenge. Besides handling math difficulties, I had to contend with the greater concern of demotivated students - students with the mindset that math is difficult, not so useful, and just needs to be complied with. I think this student perception is true in most cases. I later took on various non-teaching jobs in the last decade and a half and those work experiences tell me that a good mathematics foundation and mindset is always handy to succeed in any profession. It is this attitude that I hope to foster in you (or your child), because once you achieve this, seeking to learn becomes second-nature and you may need a tutor no more.
