"As an educator in math, English, test preparation, and P.E. (swimming) for over 20 years with a background in psychology, I strive to help individuals of all ages enhance their meta-cognition (in other words, awareness of how they uniquely learn). As a client-centered tutor, I always keep in mind my clients' goals, specifically what my clients wish to master given their time constraints. I use a wide range of modalities, tools, and techniques to help students understand, memorize, and apply complex concepts. Finally, I always aim to help students enjoy the learning process.

Over the years, I have earned the Single Subject Teaching Credential in Mathematics and a Teaching English as a Foreign Language certificate and been trained in various test preparation (e.g., SAT) programs. Although most of my time has been spent teaching adolescents (high school), I have taught a broad range of individuals: individuals across much of the age spectrum--toddlers through middle-aged adults, professional adults and students whose primary language is NOT English who need to meet the demands of learning material in a foreign language, and students with various learning and cognitive challenges as well as great intellectual gifts." less...
