"Hello, I'm Kenneth Winters and I am very passionate about mathematics and learning. I have a bachelor's degree in mathematics from Southeastern University as well as a master's degree in mathematics from the University of South Florida (USF). I am currently working on my PhD in mathematics at USF. I have 5 years of experience doing one-on-one tutoring in addition to 2 years of experience doing TA work at USF. I have worked with students in a wide variety of math courses ranging from high school Algebra 1 to college-level math major courses. I particularly enjoy tutoring Calculus 1 and 2. I have over 250 hours of one-on-one tutoring experience and 60 hours of professional tutor training. I am a level 3 CRLA (College Reading and Learning Association) certified tutor. This means CRLA has certified that I have undergone at least 30 hours of professional tutor training and I have at least 75 hours of tutoring experience.
I believe that mathematics can be a beautiful subject, which is why I take great joy in helping students who previously hated mathematics. I love to guide students in their studies and help them discover that they understand math better than they realize. My style of tutoring is to work alongside students through problems and examples and to nudge them in the correct direction whenever necessary. Additionally, I try to relate whatever problems we are working on to the passions of the student so that they can enjoy the process more and gain a deeper understanding. I look forward to working with you!" less...
