"Hi! My name is Zach, and I am currently an undergraduate student at Indiana University Bloomington pursuing majors in mathematics and physics. I am currently a first-year, and I have chosen to study mathematics and physics because of my love for numbers. I am passionate about math and understanding it, and I feel strongly about spreading this appreciation for and comprehension of the subject. I know math definitely seems daunting and a bit intimidating, and that is completely understandable! However, with the proper guidance and instruction, I think students can view math from a brighter angle.
As far as math goes, I have completed and excelled in all of my mathematics courses in high-school, including Algebra I and II, Geometry, Trigonometry/Pre-calculus, and Calculus I. So far in my college career, I have completed courses in Calculus II and Honors Linear Algebra, and I am currently taking Calculus III. I do not have any formal teaching or tutoring experience at the moment, but I have been able to help classmates, friends, and family members get a firmer grasp on math as well as inspire them to chase excellence in their grades and performance. I firmly believe in not only teaching a student how to formulaically repeat steps taught in lesson, but to develop critical thinking skills that can help them reach their own conclusions when met with unfamiliarity on homework or a test.
I would be happy to go on a journey with a student while tutoring them which comes with celebrating their achievements as well as learning from and pushing through the struggles. Math is undoubtably a difficult subject, but I will make sure I can prepare simple yet elegant methods so that the student can have a fun and productive time learning." less...
