"MBA with tutoring experience during both of my degrees. 10 years of commercial banking experience in credit analysis, statistical modeling, risk management, project management, and auditing. I enjoyed teaching my peers at work because they were so appreciative that I could make their work easier and more clear, and I look to help others by tutoring in subjects that I enjoy and that directly apply to the jobs I have had in my career.

I favor the Socratic method of asking questions so the student can draw out his/her general knowledge in order to better understand more targeted math applications of accounting and statistics. With Excel, I help the student see how data can become consumable information, which can be analyzed to answer questions. Every office job uses Excel at some point it seems, so all can benefit from a little more knowledge.

I leverage my work experience in business and banking to connect with the textbook problem, so that the learning is meaningful. The point of learning is not answer the current question - it's to answer the future questions and to be successful in your work endeavors in the future.
