"Hello, nice to meet you! My name is Jonathan, and I graduated at the top of my class at McGill University with a 3.97 GPA and a degree in biochemistry. I would love to share what I learned and the study strategies I found to be most effective. My goal is to instill you with the confidence and knowledge to ace your upcoming exams.
I have two years of experience tutoring other McGill students in classes such as genetics, molecular biology, organic chemistry, and metabolism. In addition, I have taught larger groups of students through the SynBio Collective, where I instructed them on basic molecular biology lab techniques. Throughout this time, I have come to realize that having a solid conceptual understanding of topics is the key to doing well in a class, as it allows you to better answer any “curveball” questions that may come up on an exam. I always ensure to explain the underlying concepts behind difficult questions to my students, as well as offering any suggestions for study methods. I also usually include time during my tutoring sessions for practice questions. If you have found in the past that you learn better with a different approach, I am happy to make any necessary adjustments to my tutoring approach.
Thank you for your interest in having me as your tutor, and I look forward to working with you and helping you succeed. Feel free to reach out to me with any questions or concerns and I will be sure to answer you promptly. Or, I would appreciate any resources or suggestions for me to improve my teaching, as I am always striving to offer my students the best mentorship." less...
