"I'm Talley and I'm excited to work with you! I graduated with Distinction from UVA’s McIntire School of Commerce with a Bachelor’s of Science and Concentrations in Finance and Marketing. Like many students, I didn’t have just one interest, so I also took a handful of classes in the Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy and the School of Education and Human Development. I am currently pursuing an MBA at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School as well as an MPA at Harvard’s Kennedy School. Given this path, I have experience taking the SAT (800 in Math, 740 in Writing, 720 in Critical Reading) as well as the GRE (162 in Math, 162 in Verbal, 6 on Writing). Prior to school, I was a consultant at McKinsey & Company, and thus have experience preparing for case interviews (I have had final rounds at McKinsey, Bain, BCG, Deloitte, and Accenture).

I have three years experience tutoring college-aged students in accounting, finance, and economics classes as well as two years experience teaching weekly math and writing classes to seventh and eighth grade students at a Charlottesville elementary school. In these settings, I worked directly with students who were struggling to understand the material and built up my toolkit in tutoring in both mathematical and writing-focused courses. You can expect my tutoring approach to combine a mix of shared examples that we talk through together as well as drills to ensure full understanding of the content. For older students, I also currently serve as an interview prep counselor at Wharton specifically for individuals recruiting for consulting (all of my students received offers from McKinsey & Company).
