"While I grew up thinking I was MEANT to be an emergency medicine physician, I now find myself content with the fact I have never been--nor will I likely ever be--a practicing clinician. I have spent the past 17 years teaching and writing on the premedical and medical sciences, but I shirk the label of "subject matter expert" in any particular category as I have had the privilege of working with the PhD's, MD's, and DO's who dedicated their lives' work to one subject. Where I plant my flag--and will put my knowledge, experience, and credentials up against anyone--is as a standardized test preparation expert.

In addition to having taught/tutored 1,000+ students, I have been a contributing author/editor for over 30 test prep books, 15,000 questions, and 30,000 content slides. These materials have been used by hundreds of instructors to teach tens of thousands of students. Furthermore, I have led graduate-level research on the identification and replication of the testing patterns underlying major US premedical and medical standardized examinations, which I then used to train dozens of content developers.

Mastery in preparing students for a standardized exam is NOT the same as having mastery in preparing for a standardized exam. Don't be fooled into hyperfocusing on the test score of a potential tutor... they're not taking the exam for you. Where they started and the journey they took to get to that score may not be anything like your situation, so what worked for them won't necessarily work for you. Any decent tutor can clearly explain concepts and content to you. Make sure you are working with an *educator*: someone well-versed in ALL the learning methodologies and resources available to you, able to assist you in building and executing a study plan, and who can show you how to do things in a way that's replicable when you're not with them.

Want to score the best? Then prep with the best." less...
