"In 2020, I graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Microbiology with honors from East Tennessee State University, achieving a 4.0 GPA. I subsequently began medical school at Emory School of Medicine, where I am currently in my final year and pursuing training as an orthopaedic surgeon. Following my third year of medical education, I accepted a position as a research fellow with the Department of Orthopaedics at Emory. My research focused on joint surgery in under-researched populations, alternative pain management, and infection prevention, culminating in six peer-reviewed publications, including four as first author.
During my last two years of college, I tutored organic chemistry and physics through an organization dedicated to supporting first-generation college students and students with learning disabilities. Having experienced severe test anxiety during my freshman year, I strongly empathize with students facing challenging science courses who feel overwhelmed and am passionate about sharing the knowledge and strategies that helped me overcome this hurdle. I firmly believe that academic success is attainable for everyone and am dedicated to helping students leverage their strengths and build confidence in their test-taking abilities through a focus on practice problems and strategic study methods. These tools have enabled me to assist not only my previous students I have tutored but also my peers in medical school in preparing for classes and board exams effectively." less...
