"My name is Julia, and I am an MDPhD student at the University of Pennsylvania. I attended Duke University for undergrad, where I graduated cum laude with a degree in chemistry.

I have over six years of tutoring experience and have tutored students in a number of subjects and across a wide range of levels. Specifically, I have tutored middle school math and science, high school math (pre-algebra, algebra, geometry, pre-calculus) and science (chemistry, biology, biochemistry), as well as college level biology, chemistry, and biochemistry. I also have experience tutoring elementary school students in reading, writing, and math.

I always try to make my tutoring sessions as engaging and comprehensible as possible and encourage active participation from my students. I foster an environment in which mistakes are welcome and “I don’t knows” are valuable learning opportunities. I recognize that every student has a different foundation in a given topic and try to always meet my students where they are at. I also try to work with each student to determine what learning method(s) work best for them to best fit our sessions to their unique learning style.
