"Hello! My name is Don. I am a college student entering my second year at Arizona State University. I was an honors student in high school, and in college my current cumulative GPA in ASU is a 4.0. As an aspiring mechanical engineer, I am well-versed in a strong foundation of algebra and calculus, subjects that I am excited to teach to other students.
I believe that it is very helpful for me to know what concepts the student needs help on, so before the session I try to ask the student for problems or concepts they are struggling on so that I can prepare my tutoring to the student’s needs. I also like to use figures and drawings to explain unfamiliar concepts and try to make them as understandable as possible.
While this is my first experience tutoring on a professional level, I am not a newbie when it comes to giving help. In high school, I was approached very often by classmates to help them with their AP Calculus coursework. During my first year in college, I aided my friends with tackling problems and concepts in physics and linear algebra. And more recently, I was able to help a family friend's daughter understand the concepts of integrals for her summer class. With years of experience in helping others, I want to broaden my scope and be able to help as many students as I can, simply because I love being able to help and make a difference in other people.
To put it simply, I am very passionate about math and its applications to the real world and I want to share this with other students who are as enthusiastic to learn more about math as I am. I hope to be able to help you soon!" less...
