"I have been working in engineering for over 15 years, as well as writing science fiction and fantasy novels, and teaching Wado-Ryu karate. At my engineering job I have helped many interns with the basics of becoming a successful engineer. In my writing career, I critique and provide feedback on up to 5 submissions of up to 5000 words a week, helping new and experienced writers hone their craft to come up with the best stories. I have also taught students from age 8 to 64 how to learn karate, which is an excellent way to focus the mind and become more disciplined.

I love seeing my students come to a new understanding of the subject they're studying, and following their progress from beginning to end of a course. I've personally raised over ten students to black belt, a five-year journey, and I've followed along with writing student as their first books are published. I love seeing students succeed!

I have been using algebra, geometry, and trigonometry on a daily basis for over 20 years, and I understand not only how to use equations, but why the equations do what they do and how to get answers in real life, when the problems don't have a simple example like in textbooks.

I have a Master's in Mechanical Engineering, and use it every day, whether I am at work, or simply observing the world. One of the best things I learned is how to learn, and once you know that, anything is open to you. I have worked with many different aspects of mechanical engineering, from DIY projects where it's important to understand tolerances and variability, to releasing engineering drawings with GEOTOL requirements, to talking with suppliers about creating parts, to simple force and balance equations. I can give you great insight into what being a mechanical engineer really means.
