"Hello! My name is David, and I am a senior Mechanical Engineering student at UMBC with a 4.0 GPA. My love for math led me to engineering, and I have taken courses from Pre-Calculus to Differential Equations, scoring a near-perfect ACT Math score. I have conducted research at NASA, MIT, and Caltech, experiences that have strengthened my problem-solving skills and ability to teach complex concepts.
I have years of tutoring experience at various levels. I began tutoring elementary and middle school students in algebra and pre-algebra through volunteer programs. In college, I served as a Pre-Calculus Teaching Assistant for two semesters, leading weekly review sessions, administering quizzes, and supporting students individually. Additionally, I was a Calculus II group tutor, helping 20+ students per session, and a grader for Algebra, reviewing coursework for 80+ students. My Pre-Calculus students consistently had the highest quiz averages among TA-led sections, reflecting my ability to explain concepts clearly and effectively.
My teaching method emphasizes active learning, problem-solving strategies, and real-world applications to make math intuitive. I focus on breaking down complex problems into simple steps so students develop confidence and long-term understanding. Since I recently took the ACT, I can offer insider test-taking strategies to improve scores.
I would love to help you succeed in math! Contact me to schedule a session and let’s make math clear, manageable, and even enjoyable!" less...
