"My goal is to make myself obsolete to the student.

I’m James, a senior Mechanical Engineering student at the University of Central Florida with a deep passion for math, physics, and science. I am also passionate about teaching and tutoring. I have extensive experience working with students at the elementary, middle, high school, and college levels, including through a university peer tutoring program. I take pride in helping students overcome challenges in difficult subjects by simplifying complex topics and empowering them to succeed. Few things are as rewarding to me as witnessing a student gain confidence and begin to enjoy subjects they once struggled with. I believe education is more than instruction—it’s about fostering trust and helping students believe in their own abilities.

Throughout my engineering education, I have completed advanced coursework in mathematics and physics, including calculus (I-III), differential equations, probability and statistics, classical mechanics, electromagnetism, thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics. I truly believe that anyone can excel in math and physics with the right teacher. My teaching philosophy centers on breaking down core concepts and using a hands-on approach. I believe that these subjects are best learned by working through examples. I also like connecting these abstract theories to real-world applications as I believe it helps the student understand these concepts better when they can picture it themselves. As their understanding grows, I encourage them to tackle more advanced work, with the ultimate goal of them being able to confidently teach the subject back to me.

I’m love tutoring and am excited at the opportunity to help students at any grade level excel in math and science. My schedule is flexible, and I’m happy to accommodate your availability. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you need assistance!" less...
