"Hello! My name is Micah, and I love helping people understand math and the principles behind it. Helping students make the connections and understand the ideas behind math are some of my favorite parts of tutoring. My goal is to help students make the most progress not just solving the current problems they are working on, but feeling confident the next time they see a similar problem. I grew up always enjoying solving problems and taking tests. For me test prep was an exciting challenge that could always be solved, and I want to help pass on some of that to other students. I went on to study Mechanical Engineering at The University of Alabama and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a 3.9+ GPA. I stayed at Alabama and got my MBA also with a 3.9 GPA.
Throughout high school and college, I helped students in high school as well as my peers in college study and prepare for their exams. I tutor Algebra 1, Algebra 2, PreCalculus as well as Physics and ACT Math. These subjects are the ones that seem to apply the most in my work as an engineer and I am passionate to help others excel in them. There are almost always multiple ways to solve problems and I enjoy finding the way that makes the most sense for each student. I have found that one of the largest areas of improvement is learning how to approach problems and start attempting to solve them. A lot of students get stuck with nothing to even try or start doing on problems. I enjoy helping students learn quick and effective methods on how to approach categories of problems as well as tutoring them through specific problems they are struggling with. I believe that every student has a lot of potential in them and I can't wait to help students uncover theirs." less...
