"I enjoy helping students craft college, medical school, residency and fellowship application essays, personal statements, resumes and short answer/supplement responses. I have experience as both a successful applicant and a reviewer, having sat on various admission committees for medical school, residency, and research fellowships. I know what it takes to create an essay that stands out.
I attended Rutgers University where I majored in biology and English literature; learning both how to write essays and understand human physiology. I then became a paramedic in 2012 and a physician in 2016. I completed a fellowship in Global Surgery at Boston Children's Hospital/Harvard Medical School and a masters in public health at Harvard School of Public Health. I completed my general residency at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and am currently a pediatric general and thoracic surgery fellow at Montreal Children's hospital. My background in English literature, public health, and medicine has allowed me to help many students in various stages of their career with career advice, and application design.
My process typically includes meeting with a student/applicant/trainee to meet and discuss your career goals and aspirations as well as review your CV. This helps me to better understand you, your background, and how I can best help you. I then typically review your first draft and meet again to discuss major contact and thematic changes. The process is very flexible, and I will adapt it to meet whatever needs a particular student or trainee has. I am also available via text message or phone to discuss career advice throughout the entire process. The entire process for a complete personal statement of 1-2 pages in length typically takes about 3-5 hours. I have helped hundreds of students from all stages of their career to advance to the next stage: having gone through the various applications myself, I understand how stressful this can be, and I strive to make the process as stress free as possible." less...
