"Hi! I am a Medical Student at Columbia University in New York City. I graduated from Georgetown with a degree in BioPhysics and have 6+ years experience tutoring, 3 years experience as a Teacher's Assistant in physics, 3 years experience as an EMT and NREMT course instructor, and experience advising pre-med students. I enjoy working with students longitudinally to help them reach their educational/life goals and maximum potential.
I grew up helping my younger brother who struggles with learning differences and have worked closely with students with a wide range of learning types over the years. As a Teacher's Assistant I came to understand that everyone learns differently and working one-on-one with students allows for the opportunity to develop a unique approach to lead them to success.
I've tutored in Math since I was a junior in high school. As a physics major I spent much of my time studying and applying math as well as teaching it to other students. Through these experiences I have kept up my understanding of Math concepts and developed ways to effectively teach these subjects.
My undergraduate degree was in Biological Physics and I had 3 years of experience as a Teacher's Assistant for a variety of different physics courses in a wide range of difficulty levels. My love of talking about physics and explaining it to others makes me an enthusiastic and effective Physics Tutor.
I worked as an EMT for three years and during that time was a course instructor for an EMS class that provided NREMT certification. I have experience learning, teaching, and applying topics of EMS and know the most effective methods for those topics to reach students.
I took the MCAT in June of 2021 after several months of trying different studying techniques. I scored >90% percentile in each category and this first hand experience learning the most effective ways to study has prepared me to tutor for the MCAT.
I really enjoy tutoring students of all ages, skill sets, and backgrounds and look forward to hearing from you!" less...
