"Hi, I'm Riya! I am currently a fourth year medical student at New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine (NYITCOM). I have a Bachelor's of Science in biology with a minor in psychology. I have worked as a tutor throughout high school and college in various programs, and have always enjoyed teaching and helping other students. I feel the best approach is finding ways to relate the material to everyday life, which helps make the course material more comprehensible for the student. Of course, I am happy to adjust my tutoring style based off the needs of each student.

During my undergraduate years, I most enjoyed my chemistry and biology courses, and even worked in my campus's tutoring center for two and a half years. Here, I tutored my peers in biology, genetics, chemistry, organic chemistry coursework. I would prepare for appointments in advance by reviewing the topic and preparing relevant practice questions. With each student, I would spend some time reviewing the topic, followed by going through some questions together, and towards the end would have the students work through a couple questions independently.
