"I have a degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Ursinus College, with Honors in that department. I maintained a 3.9 GPA and am now a medical student at Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University. All of my biology/anatomy-based science classes have been learned at the medical school level.
During my undergraduate years, I was a chemistry teaching assistant for college students, where I created presentations, gave lectures, supported students in the lab, and helped tutor. I also have experience with 1-on-1 tutoring for middle school, high school, and college-level math. I have many years of experience with University undergraduate tutoring at all levels and have seen excellent results.
My approach to tutoring is a very simple one: teach the basics in a way the student "relates" and understands. I have learned from my classes, especially in medical school, that rote memorization is not the way to learn the material and pass a class. Therefore, I believe in working through the problems together to break them down in a way that can be applied to all similar work, leading to future success. Science and Math are disciplines that build from the basics. I do NOT do homework for students, but will assist them as they work through the assignments on their own.
Additionally, I was on executive boards for all pre-med societies at my school, so if you are looking for any guidance on the MCAT and your pre-med path to medical school, I'd love to help.
Outside of the classroom, I love to workout with many hobbies including running, swimming, and CrossFit. I also love to travel and see new places." less...
