"Hello! My name is Vishal, and I graduated Summa Cum Laude from The University of Akron with my degree in Marketing Management and Integrated Marketing Communications, on a premedical track. I am also a first-year medical student. I believe the best approach to learning is to make it your own, that is, finding a way to relate to the material and be able to describe it in your own words. I've been fortunate to have wonderful teachers/professors, coaches, peers, and tutors who taught me this valuable skill and I've strived to bring that same approach to every person I help. I get immense satisfaction out of being able to help someone overcome learning hurdles, and working as a team to solve problems. My approach to tutoring goes beyond rote memorization, as it's my aim to help teach foundational concepts that can be applies across a wide range of problems. I have experience as a tutor from K-12 education in a variety of subjects, as well as undergraduate coursework. I've worked in groups as small as one person up to three, since I much prefer being able to tailor a lesson to the needs of the students. This was in coursework including math, writing, reading, and economics. This was help to prepare for exams (school and standardized testing) or ongoing tutoring to make sure students stay on top of material from the week. As goals and plans change, I've been able to pivot and adjust lesson plans accordingly.

My sessions are, collaborative, engaging, challenging, but most importantly, fun. I usually prefer to get some materials from the students before meeting to get a gauge for what we will go over and their current proficiency, so I can meet them where they are at.
