"I’m Gabriel, a medical student at WashU! I’m originally from Puerto Rico and I graduated from MIT with a degree in Chemistry and Biology, as well as a minor in Literature. If there’s anything that my years as a student have taught me, is that different subjects require different studying strategies. Further, it is important to take a humble approach to learning so that we may engage with content without any biases. My tutoring style is a direct extension of how I engage with content during my studies. I prefer a hands-on approach, where we solve problems together and develop a simple, systematic thought process that could apply to new scenarios. Through asking questions and brainstorming, I hope to walk with students, not just guide them. While this is my preferred method of tutoring, I do acknowledge that students have different studying needs and I am more than willing to accommodate those.
I have tutored at the high school and college levels. The majority of my experience has been in a 1-on-1 setting, where students come with homework questions and I work with them to complete the work. My areas of expertise include Chemistry, Biology and Math. Since I’m a native Spanish-speaker, I’m also happy to take on anyone trying to learn the language. Additionally, I have tutored students for the Math portion of the SAT. Having taken the MCAT twice, I’ve become fairly acquainted with the exam, so I would also be able to take on requests.
As a tutor, I commit to devote myself to students’ success! One of the greatest gifts in life is a good education. I have been fortunate enough to attend some of the best academic institutions in the world, and would like to share the gift of their education with the future generations. Feel free to reach out if you are interested in my services!" less...
