"Hey Folks. The last couple of years have been quite a journey academically. "Hey Folks. The last couple of years have been quite a journey academically. With the start of this new year I understand the anxieties held by both parents and students around the thought that everyone "fell behind." It's my firm belief that we have to shift that mindset to focus on what we did learn, what we did achieve, and how we can build off of those positives to leverage our learning this year. I want to focus my tutoring this year on building both confidence and skills.
I am a high school chemistry teacher in Manhattan and I love chemistry, and whether you share that love or not I want to help you gain a deeper understanding of the subject. I have been working with students in chemistry for going on 20 years now. In college I tutored high school students in Worcester MA because I loved the idea of working closely with students in chemistry even before I realized teaching was my true life calling.
I want to bring my experience in the classroom and real world to a personal interaction with your student.
I have a Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and two Master's degrees, one in Forensic Science from the University of New Haven and one in Secondary Education from the Relay Graduate School of Education. My qualifications do not just end with my education though, after graduating college I worked as an analytical chemist for a consulting firm. As far as chemistry education is concerned, I have been teaching regents chemistry for 10 years now at a Manhattan high school. My classes have beaten the city average scores for the regents every year that I have been at my school." less...
