"I currently teach 6th, 7th, and 8th grade social studies in Miami. I teach 6th grade U.S. History, 7th grade Civics, and 8th grade World History. I also have a degree in English so I can help with reading/writing. I've been at my current school for six years and absolutely love it. I specialize in Civics and before the pandemic, I was able to get 100% of my students to pass the Civics End-of-Course exam that is a Florida requirement for 7th grade students. Last year, my students scored an 88%. This year my students are on track to get a 100%! Before moving to Fort Lauderdale, I was a classroom tutor in upstate New York for three years. It was an alternative school for students who were on long term suspension or were incarcerated. It was a challenging position, but one that led me to pursue a degree in education. I also taught GED classes to adults at night which was one of the most rewarding positions I've held in my lifetime.

I was born and raised in Albany, NY. I speak, read, and write English fluently. I have a Bachelor's degree in English from SUNY Albany. I love to read and analyze literature. At my school, I was able to get several grants to provide a classroom library for my students. I have hundreds of books on hand from various genres. I have something for everyone. I enjoy inspiring students to read for fun again because I feel it is fading in this technological age.

As I stated before, my Civics scores are some of the best in Miami-Dade county. In college, I studied American History as my minor. I have traveled the United States extensively and have been to many of the places that are part of the curriculum.
