"I have been a database designer since 1988, designed and built Access databases since 1997, and created MS SQL Server databases since 2000. I've worked one-on-one with many users in a business setting, teaching employees the ins and outs of Access, and how to solve their database issues. I've noticed this is a part of the job that I really like. It's so gratifying when people suddenly get it! I've been told that I am patient with questions and understand what it is like to learn new software.
Although I've only tutored adults, I'm certain I can help students as well. With my experience, if it's in a course, I will have used it.
I've created small databases and larger multi-user Access front-end databases (forms and reports) with Microsoft SQL Server back-end databases. I use VBA in Access and T-SQL in SQL server. I've done lots of data export and import. I'm familiar with other Microsoft Office applications, and I've developed in Asp.net. I gained my experience on the job over the years, attended many conferences and seminars, and I was very active in our local Access User Group for 20 years.
Database types I created include student training, inventory, sales, work orders, project tracking, and other reporting. I've installed SQL Server, set up databases and users, edited tables, run queries, created stored procedures, and imported and exported data.
I'm here for your questions. Let's figure it out together!" less...
