"Hi there! I'm Michael, a middle and high school science and math teacher of 4 years with a BS in Mechanical Engineering (GPA 3.7). I've been teaching students aged 12-18 for 4 years and been tutoring individual students outside of class for a year in the Silver Spring area.

I currently work in middle- and high-school classrooms of 10-20 in science and math, and my one-on-one tutoring experience has ranged from all levels of high- school math (algebra, pre-calc, geometry, and calculus) to all traditional disciplines of high school science (chemistry, physics, and biology). I have also been teaching AP Computer Science Principles to senior-level high schoolers and currently have a 95% pass rate for the AP exam.

I am most interested in helping students identify and break through walls like overwhelming vocabulary and ungrounded abstraction in order to find and understand the core of each lesson. I have written all my own lesson plans that focus on fostering curiosity and empowering students to dive more deeply into a topic on their own terms.
