"I am a former middle school math teacher of 14 years, specializing in middle school math and pre-Algebra. I graduated from the University of North Florida in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. In 2013, I earned a Master of Science in Educational Psychology from Capella University. I am certified in the state of Georgia in Middle Grades Math (Grades 4-8), and previously was certified in Florida in Middle Grades Math (Grades 5-9). I taught 7th and 8th grade math in the classroom for the majority of my 14 years as an educator, but I also taught science and social studies as well. I even taught one full year live online. I embrace the "thinking" method of math education, which allows students to explore and discover math concepts organically and forge a deep understanding of math through logical application. I enjoy working with middle school students and embrace their quirks and budding personalities, seizing the opportunity to stand as a positive academic role model.
