"I'm Nick! I graduated from James Madison University with a bachelor's degree in middle grades education with a concentration in math! This is my 8th year of tutoring. Throughout my 7 years of tutoring, I have gotten to know about 100+ students and have tutored for 1000+ hours total before moving to this platform! Specifically, I have tutored elementary math for grades 3-5, middle school math for grades 6-8, algebra 1, and algebra 2. I can help students prepare for exams, get ahead in math, and practice and review concepts. I can also help students with homework, and I can even help to challenge students at an instructional level. As a math tutor, I provide effective strategies to help students understand mathematical concepts and great ways to approach word problems.
Math may present itself to be an intimidating and complex subject built with a lot of nonsense. So my approach to teaching is to help students use simple logic and reasoning to conquer different math problems. By centering sessions on logic, reasoning, and The Truth, students can obtain a better understanding of different math concepts and be able to make sense of the math they are doing. My hope is for students to not only feel more confident with the material, but more importantly, to not see math as a hard, frustrating subject filled with a lot of random processes, but rather as a subject that students can fearlessly tackle, regardless of the difficulty it may present itself to be. As a tutor, I am willing and happy to put in extra work to make sure sessions are engaging and based on student needs.
If you have any questions about my tutoring or would like to schedule a session, feel free to reach out to me, I am always happy to help! :)" less...
