"Hi everyone! My name is Jordan C. and I am a special education teacher at a middle school. I work with a variety of students daily and have previous experience teaching/working with preschoolers and infants. Any child at any age is a student and could always benefit from tutoring. I am just getting into tutoring this year, since this is my first time working in a public school system. I am currently at the end of my degree for elementary education with a track of English and special education at a University of New Hampshire school system. In terms of subjects and skills, I specialize in Sign Language, anything ELA related (literature, writing, reading), any subject K-6, social studies/U.S. history and politics, and I even know a bit of Spanish and can assist with this.
As mentioned, I am a middle school special education teacher. I primarily work with 6th graders, but have a variety of content knowledge throughout all grade levels. I feel comfortable and confident working with any student. As a teacher, I have a wide variety of resources to use to create practice material. I am also willing to share these resources and ideas with students so that they can utilize them throughout the academic year.
I specified my teaching track for anything ELA related. I am an avid reader and writer and am currently working on a novel of my own. I enjoy English, and especially excel with reading comprehension and literature. I am happy to spark ideas and assist students with their ability to read and fully comprehend any novel. I love when students are excited about reading a novel and sharing their writing.
I worked in the Maine Deaf community for about 3 years, and I am a fluent user of American Sign Language. I am qualified to assist with college level ASL courses and I have a great understanding of the Deaf community and culture. If you need someone to come with you to Deaf events for the credit, I am your person!
Please reach out if you need assistance with any of these skills and I am happy to set somethi" less...
